auto shopMira Mesa High School's Automotive program was awarded a $55,000 Clean Fuels Transportation Grant from the California Energy Commission. Only a few schools throughout the state were selected to be part of this process. The project includes the complete construction of a Zero Emissions Electric Vehicle to be hand-built by the students. On Wednesday Oct 17th, The California Energy Commission visited Mira Mesa High School and presented an award to the students in recognition of their cutting edge project. The Automotive Paint and Body students at Morse High School will also take part in this project as they will be responsible for the painting of the chassis and body panels.

Based off the famous book by P.L. Travers, Mary Poppins takes place at the home of a dysfunctional family in London in 1910. With a little help from their nanny, two siblings, Jane and Michael, go on magical adventures and learn that, “anything can happen if you let it.”

The Mira Mesa High School Sapphire Sound performed for world at Rose Parade.

The Sapphire Sound band and color guard from Mira Mesa High School thrilled an estimated 100 million people watching on television around the world and more than a million people lining the parade route in Pasadena in its appearance at the 2016 Tournament of Roses Parade.

The Mira Mesa High School "Sapphire Sound" Marching Band and Color Guard has been selected to represent Southern California for the 2016 Tournament of Roses Parade!  The Sapphire Sound has over 200 student members and we need to raise funds so that all of our student musicians and performers can participate.  The budget for the trip is over $150, 000 for our 4-days in Pasadena, CA.  Please help us raise funds, so that we may "Find Our Adventure" for the 127th Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2016.

Mira Mesa High School. won 3rd place in the 5th Annual Mayors’ Cyber Cup. the San Diego Mayor’s Cyber Cup, is a annual competition, established in 2010, which seeks to find and encourage the best cyber security talent in California’s high schools. The competition starts with a practice round, which this year took place in late January. There were over 50 teams participating from more than a dozen schools! Watch the video


Cheer More Than Just a Sport

When you hear the word “Cheer” what do you think of? Our cheer team can do incredible stunts and more. In reality, cheer is much more than just girls in uniforms doing acrobatic moves. These girls bleed and sweat cheer. Our own team is a national champion holder. Last year our team went to Florida and came back national champions. “I almost peed my pants!
