Education First is expecting 350+ international high school students between the ages of 13-17 to attend our Summer 2017 Language Travel program. If you’ve never hosted a student, this is a GREAT opportunity to learn about another culture, while rediscovering your own community.

EF will be providing a private transportation route for students, in which yellow school busses will adhere to Monday- Friday. Students/Course Leaders will be picked up from their bus stops at 7:30AM and dropped off after a full day of school & activities at 6:30PM. In addition, we will be implementing a carpooling system, since many of our families live close to one another.

The San Diego Unified School District is facing a budget deficit due to a combination of factors, including the increase in pension and healthcare costs, and an increasingly competitive labor market.  The district has created a page on its website that includes a list of frequently-asked questions, presentations to the Board of Education and a letter from Supt. Marten regarding the budget stabilization efforts.  Please visit the Stable Schools page for more information.

The SDUSD Calendar Committee has tasked the Cluster Congress Representatives with getting feedback from parent stakeholders regarding the proposed 2018-19 calendar. The representatives have created an online survey.

The Calendar Committee will vote on the calendar April 26.  Please take this short, anonymous survey and share widely in your cluster as soon as possible. We would like all responses by April 15.

California has launched its new school accountability and continuous improvement system, the California School Dashboard,

The Dashboard features easy-to-read, online reports on multiple measures of school success with both state and local indicators. This first year of the accountability system is a field test, intended as an early model that will be fully implemented after feedback and adjustments. Metrics will be added over time as more data are collected.
