The Board of Education for the San Diego Unified School District directs policy for nearly 200 schools and more than 100,000 students. This month, there will be meetings held across San Diego to discuss possible changes to the way in which trustees are elected to the San Diego Unified Board of Education. Please attend a meeting, as your voice is essential to the process. Some of the topics being discussed include term limits, subdistricts, and the voting structure for primaries and general elections.

April 11, 2018 (Wednesday): Mira Mesa High School Media Center, 6:00 p.m.

In addition to these scheduled meetings, we have created a brief survey to gauge opinion on some of the topics related to the Board of Education elections. The survey will be available on the Advisory Committee on School Board Member Elections web page starting Wednesday, April 11 at 2 p.m. Please take a moment to complete the survey.

Translation services and child care will be provided at each meeting. Feedback provided by the community will be used to shape possible action by the Board of Education and the San Diego City Council. Ultimately, your suggestions may end up on the ballot to be voted on by our entire community. Don’t miss this historic opportunity to make your views known. Please make an effort to attend.
