San Diego Unified offers free classes for parents, families and guardians to support their children academically from kindergarten through high school graduation. In addition, we offer parenting classes aimed at helping you raise healthy and happy kids. San Diego Parent University Website

The Parent and Outreach Department in collaboration with the California Parent Center, School of Education at SDSU is offering a free Parent Leadership and Academy Network on two Saturdays, May 30 and June 6, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Ballard Parent Center. The training is limited is 45 participants and is open to all parents. We look forward to parent representation from the 16 clusters, DAC, DELAC, and CAC for Special Education. Parent Leadership and Academy Network prepares identified and emerging parent leaders to:

  1.  Become educational leaders for their own families.
  2. Work as informed partners with educators to ensure all students are college and career ready
  3. Learn how to reach out in positive ways and engage other families in their children¹s education.

This training uses the skills and positive energy of parent leaders and focuses on building strong partnerships with schools. This training supports Vision 2020, Area 4: Parents and Community Members Engaged in Learning and Title 1 Parent Involvement Requirements.
